HUBB Kudum Kudums the main rhythm component of Sufi (mevlevi) and Classical Turkish music, as the most significant Turkish percussive reed. The large is tuned in A or G notes. The small body is tuned in a 4 or 5 higher treble than that. Camel skin which is thinned by special methods is used. It can be tuned in every note that exist in one octave practically. Unlike most kudums which are made of copper, Hubb kudums are hand made and manufactured from paddock, chestnut, ash tree and rosewood. |
